If you over fill hydro unit will that cause excess pressure and blow gasket out of filter? Mine did.
hydraulic filter leak.

Overfilling does not cause the problem. Hydro filter filures have been discussed over and over here and on the Case forum. Buy a 'cold weather' hydro filter for your tractor.

Dave, are you talking about the hydrostatic transmission filter or the main hydraulic filter? There has been lots of discussion lately about faulty filters failing for the hydrostatic transmission, but none about the main hydraulic filter failing. If yours is the hydro filter, your dealer should be able to get you the special high pressure filter for winter use.
How much did you overfill? A gallon or more? I don't think that would cause overpressure. It might cause leaks from somewhere else, but I think pressures in the system plumbing are regulated by pressure relief valves to limit overpressure.

Jinman; It was the filter on right side of the motor on my TC 29 just before or after going to the oil cooler. I had to change a disconnect on the 7308 loader and topped off oil. It showed a liittle ( 1/16") over full. Did not think it would matter. It is kept in a heated garage at 50 degrees. Started it up and moved it outside to run loader through the motions to get air out of system and so I could recheck fluid level. CNH does not say to check hot or cold. I pulled it outside and got off to close dorr and when I returned 30 seconds later a large pool of fluid was under tractor. Shut it off and I could easily turn filter. I took it off and gasket had blown out of one side. I repositioned gasket and re installed it. It is now fine. I assumed I had overfilled it and caused a little extra pressure.
