I'm a tractor newby looking into my 50 hour service on my 2025R. This handy cheat sheet (https://jdparts.deere.com/partsmkt/document/english/checklst/2025R_2032R_Comp_Util_Tractor.pdf)
dated 5/2015 lists the hydraulic filter to be replaced at 50 hours, then every 200 hours. But the owners manual
(online at OMLVU26876 ) seems to make no mention of a hydraulic filter at all.
It is not listed at any of the service intervals, but transmission filter IS listed at 50 hours.

This is all the same fluid, right? But a filter for both transmission and hydraulic system?

Thanks in advance for straightening me out.

:welcome: to TBN

I'd say change them both at 50 hours and then every 200. Apparent that they are filtering oil at two locations... and likely both are needed.

looks like the terminology could be better, but it appears to me that the "filter" in the transmission is a screen that you would clean/inspect not replace unless damaged for some reason. But otherwise they appear to have the same hour intervals.

No, if you look at the first link (pdf file) there are illustrations of each and part numbers and they are both spin-on type filters. There is also a screen on the transmission filter, but both are "proper" filters.

Welcome PID. I just did 50 hour service on my 2025R and yes same fluid filtered in two different places. The filter in the trans is a screen type and you can clean and reinstall the other is a spin on filter. I bought the kit that has all the filters in it so all mine got changed. Just be careful when you fill the trans. The book says 3.5 gal but mine didn't take that much. I over filled it and had to suck some back out. I really wish the 2025R had a dipstick for the trans instead of that **** sight glass! Also good luck when you grease the shaft between engine and trans. It took some time I had to do some research to figure out how to get to it! You have to take the dash and an access cover off of the right side to get in there (none of that info is in the manual). Now that I know how it will probably only take half as much time. Good luck!

To help better understand the transmission filter, as it is a cartridge (not a spin-on), showing the jdparts.com schematic item #22 and how it is capped off and removed from the rear. Hope this helps...

I changed the hydraulic oil filter and changed fluid and inspected the screen at 50 hours. For 200 hours, I'll only replace the spin-on filter underneath one's left foot and not replace the oil. No reason the oil should be affected.
