hydraulic fluid choice

I have a Gehl 2500 skid loader manual calls for Type F transmission fluid to be used for the hydraulics. Type F Transmission fluid is getting harder to find. Can universal hydraulic or some other fluid used?

Walmart carries type F under their brand name Supertech. It would be hard to find anything cheaper and if that's what it calls for, I'd head to Walmart.

They have it in 1 quart or 1 gallon size and will ship to your home or a store pickup.

Dexron-Mercon (red ATF) is readily available at any oil jobber in gallons and 5's.
