ok massey 1540 power-shuttle, 2007. was 1 degree out had to plow. warmed up the tractor and then discovered fluid coming from the transmission breather tube. tractor move fine but leaks fluid. Warmed up the
machine (external heater) thinking it might be ice blockage in a transmission port but no luck 40 degrees today. So I am figuring I blew a seal, but any advice would be helpful.

You say power shuttle so I'm assuming clutch/gear drive instead of hydrostatic transmission. You say it is coming out the breather tube. Something seems to be building pressure if you ask me. If you blew a seal it would leak, but I would not think it would push out the breather tube. You might clean the area were the breather tube and then crawl around the transmission and see if you can find any vent that are plugged and need cleaned. The other possibility, but I do not know how it is set up, is if some way the hydraulics have screwed up and forcing fluid and pressure into the transmission. I've seen this happen in larger ag tractors. One way to check and get a good idea that something like this is happening is with the trActor turned off, check transmission fluid. If it is way over full that is a strong indicator that your hydraulic system is pumping into the transmission. If transmission is full, check hydraulic fluid, it may be low. If so, you found the problem. If you transmission and hydraulics are all using the same fluid/reservoir like a hydrostatic transmission, then I'm at a lost. Hope this helps and good luck.

The only pressure to the transmission is for the clutches. while the tractor uses hydraulic fluid for the trans gears, rear diff, 3pt and loader, the only pressure is for the clutches. But I do not have a service manual for this tractor and they cost about 200.
