My understanding is that there is no regulatory body verifying compatibility. The only requirement for anyone to claim that their fluid is comparable to Hygard, for example, is for them to print up the labels. A reputable producer is going to conduct tests and honestly represent what theyæ±*e selling you, of course. But my suspicion is that at with at least some of the cheap buckets at the big box stores, maybe you get what you pay for.
