I have a new Massey 1739e the first few hours of operation i was able to see the hydraulic fluid thru the glass window to check the level, after washing the machine i noticed that the fluid dropped below the glass window. I dont notice any leaks. Is it common for fluid to go low on new tractors as the fluid finds its way thru the whole tractor? Is it common to have to top off hydraulic fluid on a new tractor once its been used for the first few hours or so?

I can't speak for massey's but my kubota did not drop any since delivery.

Got my 2009 Kubota M6040 brand new and have not had to add any since I got it. Check again - remember new hydraulic fluid can be clear as water.

Are you sure each time you looked at the sight glass you were on level ground?

The fluid level is also affected by the 3pt and loader cylinders. If the cylinders are fully retracted the level will be higher than when they are extended.

I could not see any fluid in sight glass of my GC1715 only to discover it was full (above sight glass) and very clear... Wish they would have put a dye in it so it was more visible..... Was actually able to take a piece of bailing wire and dipstick the transaxle to discover its real level...
