This is my fluid out of my m59 after just 15mintes run time. And the last one is after it sits for a bit. Is this unusually abnormal?

I do believe you have a suction leak and the bubbles are en-trained in the fluid.

How do your controls feel?

They feel ok. The machine loses speed and some power the longer I use it. Could this aerated oil cause pump failure? The dealer had me smear grease all over the suction lines but I didn't see anything but a mess after I was done.

That much entrained air CAN cause pump failure. You have any possibility of problems, from a clogged suction strainer, to a bad pump shaft seal, to a pinhole in the suction hose. You can also see this problem if there is a restriction in the line in the cylinder rod side, which can allow you to suck air past the cylinder rod seal. Any of these can cause your problem.

yep.. air entrained oil will cause the pump to cavitate.. this cavitation will destroy it.

What you were supposed to do with the grease after applying it, was to look in the hyd tank when you started the tractor and see if you can see any bubbles in the tank.

The grease is to help seal any leaks that may be present. If the grease successfully seals the leak, then you know where to look.

With the grease smeared all over the suction tube, and fittings, did you see any bubbles.

The pump shaft seal can also leak, and since it maybe a suction leak, you will not see the leak except for air bubbles in the tank.

The air en-trained fluid will cause diminished operation of everything that uses the fluid.

Well it lost both pumps at 175hr. now it has 280hr in it. If this is what killed the first pumps how much life has been taken from the pumps now. I did look at the fluid after smearing grease and it's still foamy. I have 2 jobs I have to use it on in the next couple of days then back to the shop for the 6th time. Kubota makes great stuff but this pos has slipped by. I don't think they are used to seeing problems with their equipment because their troubleshooting sucks.

The blocked screen scenario has me thinking because through my dealings I have talked to the Kubota service rep and he mentioned that some m59 have had screen problems.

whatever you do.. it needs to be addressed sooner than later ....the fact you are getting air entrainment AND have already been thru a pump is either an amazing coincidence.. or.. well.. logical progression of a cavitation problem... :(

good luck
