one issue i have had since the beginning on my 2840 is sluggish or non responsive hydraulics in cold temperatures, i have done all scheduled service at the right intervals. i am using a napa hydraulic fluid that my dealer told me to get. in 10 degree weather if i dont run the tractor 10 to 20 minutes i cant even turn the steering wheel and i have tried engaging the pto and had it stall the tractor. my thought is the fluid is not suitable for my temps, i dont care about the warm up time im concerned that i might damage my pump over time. what is everyone else running for fluid and with what results. my friend has a kubota and while he lets it war up in cold temps he says his hydraulics are good to go right from the engine firing.

Try automatic transmission fluid. Pricey, but works in cold temperatures.

Maybe you can use kubota super udt2

My Dealer recommended the NAPA Tractor Hydraulic Fluid for my LS xr3135. He said it meets all the LS Specs. Haven't tested in sub zero temps yet.
