hydraulic leak 773 bobcat

I have hyd leak right side on the spool/valve just inside the access cover that is between the wheels? lines don't seem to be leaking any ideas?

You need to know if the leak is from the spool shaft . if it is, some spools have a seal and other do not as they are a precision fit.

If the leak is coming from an NPT fitting, maybe tighten some more and or add some Teflon sealant or Loctite red or blue , and if straight thread, check o-ring.

If the hose is leaking, replace fitting or get another hose.

I am sure it is not hoses or fittings , can I take the "e" ring off of the cover on the shaft end?

The only other place a spool valve could leak would be the load check valve.

There maybe cans on the bottom of the valve that might contain some special function of the valve.

You might see fluid leaking from the cans, but it would be coming from the spool shaft.

Can you show a picture of the leak?

Mine was doing the same thing on my 450 about a year ago. Bobcat has a seal kit to do the whole valve body. After looking at the pics in the repair manual, and seeing all of the springs & detent balls, and I believe a special tool to re-insert spools, etc., I took it to Bobcat, and let them do it.

I had called and spoke with the shop foreman. He checked, and said it would take about an hour for a mechanic to do it. Just one of those times it was worth it to me to pay an hour of shop rate labor, than fabricating a tool, and possibly searching for those springs & detent balls if they happen to make the great escape.

In the future, you can put some dye for hyd fluid in the reservoir, and if you ever have a leak, just shine a black light over all the hyd and you will see a yellow/green glow from any part that is leaking .
