Hydraulic leak in male fitting

When I was hooking up my JD 210 front end loader this spring I had two hoses that I could not make the connection, something on the loader shifted putting pressure into the hose.

I had to loosen up one of the male connectors, the fluid come out in a very small stream which released the pressure, everything was working fine. After disconnecting the loader for a week I noticed it had settled all the way down to the ground, obviously that fitting I opened up is now leaking.

What's inside that quick connect, o-rings or seals?

I wouldn't worry about it unless it leaks (more) under pressure while on the tractor. If your connectors are the "flat face" type, I don't think that they are serviceable. the more typical "ag" connectors are cheap to replace. You have checked for leaking at the threads right? Loosening this may have disturbed the original sealant/tape.

that would be my first guess. if they are taper thread. they don't like being loosened and retightened without more 'dope'

Fwiw, never use thread tape as it can damage the pump and if possible use Loctite 545. Its the only hydraulic specific thread sealant.
