Hydraulic Leak - Need suggestions

I have a leak where one hose joins another. I have tried tightening the two together as much as I can and when the tractor applies a lot of Hydraulic pressure it still leaks. Any suggestion on what I can use to stop the leaky threads?

Take the hoses apart... replace the defective o-ring inside the one connector... tighten "appropriately"...

Thanks for the suggestion but there is no o-ring.

Is it possible... was never installed?

or check the threads for "damage"... over tightening can do them in real quick...

Worse comes to worse... take both hoses off... have a hydraulics "pro" give it a once over... (or you can replace both hoses with "new" as a drastic measure)

JohnMiller3 - is there any type of thread goop I can put on the threads? Like pipe dope?

I would take them apart, clean them good and apply pipe sealant with teflon. It's a white paste and does an excellent job. Unlike teflon tape slivers of it won't get into your system.

When cleaning the threads be sure and swab out the female end after your through.

If all else fails, and you have enough slack, you can take the hoses to a hydraulic shop and have the ends replaced. They may only have to replace one of them to get a good seal.
