hydraulic leak problem

I have a 2003 (same as TC29)29 hydrostatic tractor i bought used a year ago and I haved been battling a hydraulic leak coming from the hose that connects to the hyd. cooler on the right side of the tractor (in front of the radiator). At first I thought it ws the hose so I Changed it. It still leaks and I've cranked it down tight. Has anybody else had this problem? The other hose onthe cooler does not leak at all. I'm starting to supsect the cooler itself.
If it is the cooler -what do they cost?

I'm assumeing that it is a threaded fitting that is still leaking? If it is the threaded fitting, than I would try some teflon tape to wrap around it, thread it back together and see if that does it. If it is the cooler, than I would price one from the dealer, and then from the aftermarket from companies like Summit racing equipment. That way, you might be able to save a few $$. Oh, if it is just clamped on, than maybe you have a split in the hose, and if you've got enough length to it than you can just cut the end of the hose off and then clamp it back on. Hope it works out for ya.

I'm afraid you may have what I developed today. There is a history with the TC40's (my tractor) that the hydraulic oil cooler gets a stress crack in it just below that fitting. I'm quite sure that's what has happened to me. I was working in a dusty situation today and dust was collecting everywhere due to the oil being blown all over the place. the only place there wasn't dust was where the oild was pouring out of this crack... I haven't got any quotes on the new cooler which is supposed to be a fix on it. (A large washer welded around the area I believe.)

Hope that's not your problem... but fear it may be.
