I built a 6' dump trailer and set up a winch with a post for dumping it. It works quite well but the winch is overworked and will burn up soon. I woulkd like to replace the lift post with a hydraulic cylinder to lift the box. I have sized up the cylinder (2.5" x 14" stroke). My question is: Can I use the yellow line from my tractor to run the cylinder or do I need a seperate power plant?
I use the trailer to haul grass as well as dirt and when I am cutting the grass I require the blue to be linked to the red in order to raise and lower the mower deck, I would like to add a lever to the ROP on the right side and was hoping to lug the yellow line into the lever box and then from the lever box to the cylinder to raise and lower. Is this posible? How would I accomlish this?
Thanks guys :)

Welcome to TBN.
What type of system will be driving the hydraulic ram up and down. Is it an electric motor driving the pump. If so how many amps it draws will determine whether you can hook it up to the wiring directly to your tractor. If it is an electric / hydraulic motor you could mount a separate battery on the trailer to run it. Mount your up/down control to the ROPS as you want. You can then run power and ground wires from your tractor back to the battery to keep it charged when towing it. Just put a circuit beaker in the hot wire from your tractor to the battery so it doesn't overload the tractor wire rating when in use.

I was hoping to use the spare hose on my massey 2410tlb. it runs the stabilizers for the hoe when it is in use. I can hook up a seperate power pack but was hoing to spare the expense :D

It can probably be done I just don't know how to do the hookup. JJ seems to be the hydraulics guy on here. Maybe he will chime in to assist you.
At this point I have 2 sets of rear remotes but no 3 pt. hyd. attachments. I did run a set of hoses from one set to the front of my tractor for my hydraulic thumb. I think I'll use the other set for a top n tilt ram when I get time to figure the size cylinder I need.

When the hoe is not attached these lines are stored at the rear of my tractor
