lession time for me, I could not get 2 of my lines to connect on my FEL, got the raise/lower line on but not the tilt. took tractor to the garage and cracked a line to let pressure out of the system. that went ok, but must have not been enough, still would not connect. sooooo i did the old push the male connector against a non moving object to get rid of the rest of the pressure, it worked after I got sprayed with oil, and no safety glasses on. got a face full, and just missed my eyes.:ashamed: When will I ever listen to my wife when she is after me to put them on? How is it that she is on to something I am (no longer) missing....

Yup...BTDT.

I ALWAYS cover the QD with a rag when using the "push to relieve" method.

"faced" that same problem yesterday....but decided to just crack a line until enough pressure was relieved to be able to connect the lines.
Oil all over, vs in one spot, is much better but less dramatic. :D

Over a year ago I read something similar on one of the tractor sites. I have had to do the same thing to relieve the oil pressure for my backhoe lines but I always put a rag over it and wear safety glasses and gloves. Usually I use channel lock pliers for this, give a squeeze on the end and its over. :)
