Last spring when I removed my Quick Hitch and Dozer Blade from the front of my tractor, I noticed a wear spot in the hydraulic hose (Blue connection) from the Quick Hitch.

This wear concerns me and I'm going to have both hoses remade at a hydraulic supply shop.

The wear area comes from the hose support bracket that is fastened on the outside forward right hand side of the tractor frame, part # MF4263066M91.

This bracket has sharp squared off corners on both of the opening ends, and I have always zip tied the hydraulic hoses to this bracket, but sometime during the winter the zip tie broke and fell off.

Today I ground all of the sharp corners off of this bracket and repainted it before reinstalling it.

These sharp open corners on this hydraulic support bracket have always concerned me but now I will not need to zip tie the hoses to it anymore.

Hope this helps others with the same design/flaw?

I should of taken care of this over the summer, but I just plain forgot about it until today when a couple of inches of snow was falling...

Edit: Forgot to mention the 2 pics are after I ground off all of the sharp corners, and it seems MF made this bracket out of keyway stock material.

If you get some Kevlar hose wrap like in this photo, https://www.ebay.com/p/1919881131, you can wrap the hoses in any areas that they may wear.

Ideally, you put it on before the fittings are attached, so it fits well. But, you can still slide it on if you have oversized pieces.

When I ran hoses to the deflector at the top of the chute on my snowblower I was fearful that slack in the hose would get fouled and damaged if it got caught in the "gears" of the toothed flange for chute rotation. Rather than fabricate a post and spring arrangement a la Pronovost, I merely installed a pipe "rail" to keep it out of the area where it might get caught. The chute rotation still allowed the hoses to "chafe" as they slid over the rail so I used plastic, spiral cable protectors. I no longer recall the vendor or price, but they were cheaper than fabric (nylon) sleeves, I also thought the plastic might resist chaffing better than fabric. Do be careful that the id of the spiral will fit the od of your hose.

I've put HD nylon spiral hose wrap on all my exposed hose. Stuff looks like the old spiral cord used on telephones. Bit of a PITA to get started but it sure protects your hydraulic hose. Got it at the local hydraulic shop in Spokane( House of Hose ).

We use a straight radiator hose as guides and protectors for hydraulic lines,
Short sections can be cut and hoses slid through,
or sections sliced and pushed over the hoses and ty wrapped .

Hoses should not be fastened to any "slip thru" designed hose brackets. The idea is the hoses have to move some during operation.

So your zip ties were doomed from the beginning. :)

It sure would help if the legs of the hose guide overlapped more. This is a guide I made for my grapple. You don't need to overlap this much but a good inch more on the OP's guide would help.

The overlap is only needed to keep the hoses from coming out of the holder. The OP's holder doesn't mount like it's pictured. It actually mounts with the opening upward. So the weight of the hoses is keeping them in the holder.

I like your holder made from round stock. No sharp edges to worry about.

I forgot to mention earlier, in regards to the hoses pictured. I wouldn't worry about replacing them. It appears they just have the outer coating rubbed off. The exposed steel is where the hose gets it's strength and it appears to be fine. :)

Just use a large diameter rubber hose slipped over or slotted and ty wrapped to hydraulic hose to create a "armored section " against any wear point...
