Have a question about the "hyd. cyl. lockout valve" that gets mounted behind the SCV. Mine doesn't seem to change anything whether it's open or closed...in other words, when I use the bucket curl, the 3pt hitch (ballast box) and mower deck go up and down (maybe a little slower with valve closed). Dealer doesn't seem to know anything about it and says it's normal (the dealer is another story---doesn't always pay to go with the lowest price!!!). What is everyone else's experience with that valve? Is there another/better way?

On a related subject, I found reference to something called a "regenerative bucket kit" (P/N BM20911) which is supposed to "improve bucket cycle times". Anybody know anything about this? How much $, how well does it work? Again....dealer clueless.

Is the valve installed on the correct circuit? Is the valve fully closing? The lockout works on my 445, its a pretty simple thing, I installed it myself.

Thanks for the response. I'm sure it's installed right...only 1 way it can go (I put it in myself too). Just so I'm clear, on your machine with the lockout valve closed, the mower deck cylinder doesn't operate at all?

I know this is an old thread, but I think it is relative to a problem I am having with my JD 455. My 3-point hitch keeps dropping with the ballast box on it when I curl the bucket and doesn't come up again. At first, I would loosen and then tighten the lockout valve and that seemed to help a bit, but after a while that started doing nothing too. It has rendered use of the bucket impossible. Any thoughts? I really need some help on this. Thanks, in advance.

DMM, is does sound like your lockout valve is damaged - the hitch on my 455 does not move at all when it is locked. Can't you just adjust the downstop on the 3-point to take care of this temporarily?
