Hello everyone, I need some help selecting a hydraulic motor to power a winch. The winch i have is a Rhino 8000lb worm gear winch. It has a rated line pull off 8000lbs, 29:1 gear ratio, and a max input speed of 1000rpm and 4.125" diameter hub. I plan on running this whinch with the aux. hydraulics on my Bobcat 450 tractor (50hp) The tractor has a hyd flow of 9.5 gpm. I would like the motor to have around 1000rpms so I have the proper line speed. If my caculations are correct at 1000 rpm I will have a line speed of 40.6 fpm with .38 cable on first wrap on drum. I also could use a motor with 500 rpm and just use sprockets and chain to get the proper speed. I would like the motor to have enough power to get close to the 8000lb of pull. I plan on using this for a logging type winch project. Will my tractor have enough hyd flow (power) to run a motor for this? Any help would be great.
Thanks Jason
