I published this over on the JDOO board and had no responses, so I am prepared to receive my "double-posting" flame.
Probably should have come here in the first place. We rebuilt a sprayer that has a hydraulic driven centrifugal pump on it, an ACE 206. I know, I wanted to switch to PTO but my partner didn't want to spend the money. I don't have the deluxe SCV with the motor setting and detent options on my JD 5525, just the standard 2 SCV pack. JD came out with an adapter that replaces the hydraulic oil filler tube and provides a zero pressure return point back to the sump on 5000 series tractors, part no. RE195713. I figured that and a rope or bungee cord would get me in business, as long as I work the lever between retract and float. Thank you JD. I ordered the thing but it doesn't quite fit. First off, it has Made in China stamped on it in 3 places. The outside diameter of the tube is slightly smaller than the original so it doesn't fit tight in the rockshaft cover. And, the wall thickness of the tube is thinner so when you put the filler cap tube in it, it wobbles around. I don't want to chance a jury rig. Dealer is clueless naturally. They didn't even know JD made this thing. Alternate Method??? There is a screw plug on the side of the rockshaft cover that appears to lead directly into the sump, at the base of the filler tube. I can see the backside of it when I look down the tube. Parker makes a tube-to-straight adapter that fits the 33mm threaded hole. With another adapter, I can get to a #8 JIC to attach a pigtail hose with a quick coupler on it.The dealer service manager said he didn't see anything wrong with it (yes, it's out of warranty). Thanks in advance for the input and suggestions.
