I am interested in building a band saw saw mill and controlling the entire operation with hydraulic motors.
One the drive the saw blade, one to operate the up and down of the cutting head and one to drive the saw forward and return when the cut is complete.
I have no idea what kinds of motors I will require for these operations but know the blade motor will need to have a higher rpm output than the other two.
They will both be low rpm output. I will be researching to find out what rpm the optimum blade speed would be.
Ideally the motor to move the saw forward would could be controlled to move forward at a slow speed and faster in the return speed as the saw only cuts in one direction. Have no idea if that is even possible.
I would like to know if I can adjust the speed of any of these motors with a flow valve or if there is a better way.
I have some experience working with hydraulics from working on garbage trucks and roll off container trucks. But it was all straight forward systems and simple.
I would really appreciate any help and suggestions I can get and thank you in advance for what ever you can provide.
Thanks wonbaldeagle
