If I have a new machine and rent attachments is there any chance of getting contaminated oil transferred from the attachments to my machine? Would it be enough to cause problems? What is the worst case scenario? Could there be metal shavings, water or anything corrosive?

Thanks…..

Yes, there is that possibility, hopefully your filters will catch anything, and hopefully there is such a small volume in the implement compared to what your machine has for capacity that any cross contamination would be negligible, but yes, there is that possibility.

Yes you will get cross contamination. I've seen where an owner has a hyd pump grind itself up, rebuild it and 2 weeks later it's bad again because they did not flush the system before installing the rebuilt pump.

Take a look at your pump micron rating, filter micron rating, transmission gears, bearings, etc.

Now make a bet if the previous tool renter was on top of his maintenance game.

Water settles in the bottom of the sump so is not a factor unless there is enough of it.
