Backhoe Hydraulic PHD / FEL or Backhoe mount?

I need some help in deciding which is the better way to go for mounting a hydraulic auger. The FEL quick attach system looks to be the most stable and easier to change out. The backhoe mount looks to be more versatile but I am worried about the torsion it would place on the backhoe.

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a M59 TLB so I could order it with hydraulics set up for either attachment. I am looking at McMillen augers, which can also be setup for both mounts.

I would think the BH mount would give you freedom to put the holes where you want them with less jockying around.

I don't know about that.

I have looked and looked for one of these, and I know one is in my future, but I think it would be much easier to drive up to the work area forwards, where I can precisely place the auger right above the hole to be drilled.

The advantage of the backhoe is if you want a hole down an embankment or up on a hillside too steep to just drive up.

I am leaning toward mounted on the front.

I agree seems like loader mount would work for 98% of the time quicker and easier. However a mount on the BH would be nice for those hard to reach areas. If funds are not an issue I would get hyd. on front and rear but its easy for me to spend your money

I have the Worksaver 714H PHD, which comes with mounting brackets
for the side of the FEL bkt. I adapted mine to the backhoe dipper stick.
With the hoe you have one more range of motion and you can go side to
side without moving the tractor. Worksaver also has an 814H, which is
designed to clamp to the center of your bkt or use a SS plate.

My hoe has no problem handling the torque put out my the PHD. It has
a very long moment arm.
