hydraulic problem please help

Hi all I have a Jd4110 that i put a power beyond on then plumbed a valve and hydraulic 3 point top link. The problem is when I first turned it on after installing it all I was able to get the ram to go all the way back but it wont return the hoses all look look like there's pressure on them as they jump when I pull the lever either way the valve gets really hot But the ram just wont retract or do anything now its just all the way out could I have the in and out hoses installed backwards? I tried reversing the hoses going into the valve and that didn't do anything to help.

Can you post a pic or two that will show what you have and how you have it plumbed?

I think you need to provide details about what you really did DO here...

Check all the QD's so they are properly connected

when I pull the lever either way the valve gets really hot

Flow is blocked and by passes through the pressure relief valve

But the ram just wont retract or do anything now its just all the way out could I have the in and out hoses installed backwards? I tried reversing the hoses going into the valve and that didn't do anything to help.

Seems like you are not 100% sure about how to DIY....lol..
Please take detailed pictures and explain what and how you have plumbed you valves....Detailed ID on the valves will help too identify that you are using the proper valves...

I think you may have plumbed in a Closed Center valve...DO NOT continue to run the tractor until you get this figured out!

Please post specific details like what valve you used.

Hi all kennyD you were right I took the valve off and took it back to the place I bought it and they gave me the wrong valve it was a closed center valve that's why it didn't work I thought I might of hooked it up wrong all it was was a wrong part thanks all for your help I love this community.
