All,
I have been very happy with my little 186D and it runs great, but recently, when I've fired it up, the loader has been acting "jerkey" until it warms up, almost like there's air in the line. But then it works just fine when it warms up. It's not been cold her at nights and it's in the barn to boot. This is a recent thing... Also, I notice when I ran it for about an hour, then turned the engine off, I hear what sounds like a punctured tire.. but it's coming from the rear end case somewhere.. so ... I pulled out the hydraulic dipstic.. and oil comes bubbling out, like it's overfilled.. I have NOT put any oil in this thing for quite a while. It's kinda milky like there's water in it.. which is strange, 'cuz there's no water loss in the engine, and I've not had it near water EVER.. I haven't washed the thing since I put the loader on in December (shame on me).. Soooo anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

It sounds like your 186 needsan oil change. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Drain the WHOLE tranny of oil.
Remove your screen filter and clean it
and fill with fresh tractor fluid.

I think your filter might be cloged to the MAX.
Try that and see. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now I don't know hardly anything about a Yanmar, but if it were a Kubota I'd say your transmission vent is plugged. And I'd almost bet that Yanmar has one, too, that mud daubers or something else has plugged up.

Like Ernie says change the fluid and filter. Don’t add....Change. The water contamination is from condensation in the case. Very normal.

Ernie, and Bird were both right.. I changed the hydraulic oil, filter and cleaned the screen (they all needed a change anyway) but it still "whistled" when I turned it off after running it for a while. So I started looking for a "breather" hole. Found it... in the screw on cap for the hydraulic fluid. An itsy bitsy teeny weenie hole.. I really needed glasses to see it... cleaned it out and problem is solved. Thanks guys...

Glad it was nothing serious.
