New subscriber with a pt2425 that continues to go through hydraulic pumps (main). Has anyone ever found satisfactory fix and decent run time with one of these machines?
How many hours are you getting before losing a pump? Which pump do you mean by "main", PTO or tram? Is your primary use hydraulic PTO or non-rotating implement?
This doesn't sound normal, and I don't recall anyone else having to replace their pump more than once.
It is the main pump that would supply power to the wheels. part# p154x19. This will be number 4. This time the pedals fwd and rev had zero tension or effect. then when re statrted the machine lept forward and continued forward untill shut down. Pt says send it back and pay $1000.00 to rebuild or $2000.00 to replace.
Killin my business...
It is the main pto pump. steering is fine.PT says ship it back $1000.00 to fix and $2000.00 to replace. part number is p154x19... 4th pump in under 500 total hours.
The main PTO pump is not the same pump that supplies power to the wheels.
The main PTO pump supplies power to the implements like mowers, brush cutter decks, trenchers, etc...
The aux PTO pump supplies power to the aux PTO (the knee lever operates the aux PTO) and also supplies power to the steering/lift circuit.
The variable volume pump supplies power to the wheels. Some folks refer to it as the tram pump or the drive pump. I think that is the one you are having problems with.
I have not heard of anyone going through multiple tram pumps. 4 is way too many.
What model year is the PT425 and how many hours are you getting on the pumps before they go bad?
Stuck spool in the foot pedal cylinder? This time the pedals fwd and rev had zero tension or effect. then when re statrted the machine lept forward and continued forward untill shut down
