Hydraulic Pump

I did a search on the forum about third function stuff. I'll probably hold off on having him do anything for now and continue to use my cheap man method of using one of my rear ports.

I'll have to decide if I want to keep the joystick and add a third function button to it or get a valve with 3 levers. The valve with 3 levers seems to be 1 of the cheaper routes or I did see some add a second joystick next to the existing joystick strictly for the third function. I assume that would be the cheapest way to go...

I assume I would hook up the new joystick to the PB port of the original joystick valve and then the hose that was connected to the PB port can be connected to the PB port on the new joystick? The only other 2 hoses coming off that joystick should be the grapple....I hope I explained that right... Seems like this would be the cheapest way to go to have the handle easily assessable .

Quick update. They installed the pump, no problem at all. I did however ask them to drain out the heavier hydraulic oil I had in there because it needs the transmission/hydraulic oil instead. Well when they did that, (I had also added hydraulic stop leak stuff) they noticed the filters were all gummed up with the stop leak. So they cleaned the lines etc etc...not sure if it really needed that or not but the guy wasn't comfortable sending the tractor back to me if it wasn't working properly and having me blame him... Well, up go the hours worked on the tractor. I should've left it alone at the pump and never asked to switch the oil but I wanted to make sure it worked properly with the right oil in it because I would've been switching it out this spring anyways... Luckily, they were able to find replacement filters at napa that they will get today and hopefully fit and have it all done...

Got it back yesterday and just had to test it out to make sure everything worked as it should....Is it wrong that I probably got a little over excited when I drove into the pile for the first scoop and managed to get a full grapple load and pick it up with ease!! The load in the pictures wasn't the biggest load I grabbed either :) I didn't get beat up on the price I think, 7 hours worth of labor @110 an hour.

Work done was: Diagnostics, Remove and replace hydraulic pump, drain hydraulic oil, change hydraulic filters, blow out all old hydraulic oil from the lines, adjust valves to proper settings and test machine and make more adjustments as needed.
