Hi all-
New to tractors and the site and have been reading quite a bit. Very informative. Need some help with hydraulic power. Seems it does not lift near what it did when new. have done all 100 hour service. I read another post and it said in addition to all filters, there was a screen for the hydraulic lines, Do I have any on this tractor? I sure miss the power it used to have.

You only have the screw on filters under your foot rest, R/H side is hydraulic and L/H side is HST.

And what power loss are you having...HST, 3pt, FEL or rear remotes or all?

Seems like all my lifting devices do not have the same capacity they had when new. Changed fluids and filters- thought it would help, but no.

I have no knowledge of the mechanicals of your tractor but heres a pic of a similar screen from another model that was posted by another member, and a pdf of a page from the L4130 GST HST parts manual that I happen to have. Its part no 030. (I dont know if its applicable to your tractor). Most HST tractors have a screen each side but my quick perusal of the 560 page manual suggests there may be only ONE screen that services both the hydraulics AND the HST on the 4130HST, but I could be completely wrong about that. (A little knowledge is a dangerous thing eh.) But if that is the case, and your tractor is similar then a blocked screen is quite possible. Have you noticed the HST trans is lacking a little grunt lately too?

I saw that screen photo as well, but couldnt really tell where it was. Another post tells of a service bulletin (number kept secret) for certain 3130's and a screen which when cleaned or removed solves all problems with hydraulics. I dont think I use the tractor for anythhing very taxing on the HST, so I haven't noticed a loss of power. Mostly a garden toy except when I built the barn or want to dig a big hole. Not farming with it like I should.

The screen just looks like a large bolt thats bolting an oil line to the side of the tranmission. But when you remove the bolt you'll see that its also a wire mesh filter. You'll have to drain the oil before you remove the bolt.

I am new to the forum and was wondering if you ever figured out what was wrong or if the screen was the issue? I am having the same problem, thanks

Z28gc222: I had a problem with my 2003 L3130HST a couple of years ago. I lost the use of the rear three point hitch-Happened the same time I did the 400 hour service. Thought I did something wrong. Turns out there is a screen in the rear hydraulics that came loose and got stuffed into a relief valve holding it open. Caused the three point to have no pressure. This screen is supposed to be located in between the trans housing and rear spool block.
If you are having a problem with just the rear three point hitch, I can tell you where to get to it. The seat pan needs to come off. This gets you to the top of the transmission. There is a spool valve block bolted to the top of the transmission. Unbolt this block carefully and put on a bench. I unscrewed the plugs on the block one at a time until I found the wadded up screen in the relief. Pulled screen out-carefully-it could be under spring pressure. Put everything back together, reinstalled, and everything works! Just be careful to keep track what you take out and put it back in the same place. On the advice of my dealer, I did not put the screen back in.

Now if your loader is also weak, you have another problem I have not encountered yet.....

Good luck!
