I took my backhoe stabilizer cylinder apart and installed the new seals and when trying to put the hydro rod guide on the rod it seams real tight when it tries to go
through the bearing. Is this normal and should I press it on. This is the first time I worked on a hydraulic cylinder so I don't want to damage the bearing. I did have a new rod made and the seals fit fine but the bearing appears real tight on the rod.
Thank you for any help.

Take a pic so we can see what you're calling a bearing. It should be tight but I don't think you need a press. Now getting the Piston back into the cylinder housing can be quite tight and I've used shim in a can to gap the transition between the seal and cylinder and then use a dead blow to persuade it back in.
I've done quite a few cylinder rebuilds this way and actually will be doing both on my 110 real soon.

They call it a bearing in the instructions and ware ring on the diagram. You can see from the picture how far I can put it on until it gets really tight. I took the ware ring out and the rod guide goes in no problem.

Thank you for the video I'm putting the piston on the rod I already have the assembly out. Does anyone know the diameter of the rod? The machine shop used 40MM rod and I think it's the wrong size rod they made because I just tried to put the piston on the rod and it won't go on.

The issue in advising on this one is complicated due to the non oem part. As I suggested in my previous reply a can o shim was the secret for me in getting the piston rings into the cylinder. Since you've got a non standard part you really gotta be careful. If you have the old part take a micrometer to it and then compare the diameter.
