Hey guys I need a little help here I have a L2800 HST the loader and the backhoe have a shutter, the loader bounces a little when going up and the hoe kind of shutters while booming up or curling the bucket, its also noticeable in the steering. I changed the hydraulic filters but it didn't seem to help. The tractor has 366 hr on it and the hydraulic oil has 316 hr. It does get better when its at full temp but only in the hoe not the loader.
Thanks for the help.

Filter was a good move. Is there a suction screen somewhere?? ... It sounds like youre getting air, or "cavitation" in the suction line to the pump. Check fluid level and hyd connections.

+1 What Larry said. You might check the oil for foam or a milky appearance. That would suggest air being picked up in the inlet piping. If the oil looks good, you more than likely have some kind of inlet screen clogged. All of these are rather serious conditions that you should correct rather than use the machine as is.

The 2800/3400 is noted for having trouble with the hydraulic suction hose developing cracks. If you look at the hydraulic pump (near the end of the fuel pump), there's a grey rubber hose that goes down past the brake pedals and under the floor pan. Odds are pretty good it's cracked and the pump is sucking air as well as hydraulic fluid.

They're not expensive or hard to change, you'll have to drain the hydraulic fluid to change it though.

+2 what everybody is saying here.

I don't own or have any interest in the L series, but that inlet tube problem has been posted enough times to be familar.

I wouldn't use the tractor until it is figured out.

I need to change mine as well, but I didn't think I would need to drain the fluid though. I assumed I would just lose a little.
