You know, I had a similar problem on mine (T5 with 3banger diesel). turns out that the king pin was frozen on the left side. Took a torch to get teh retaining collar loose and some finessing with afive pund sldge to get it unstuck. After a bath in solvent and a trip to the sand blaster it slipped back in just fine.
Firt thing I would do is disconnect one end of the steering cylinder, jack teh silly thing us and see if teh wheels turn like they are supposed to. I had mine all the way apart (steering column, cylinder, hoses) before i even thought to check if the wheels woud turn.
guess that what happens if it sits for a year, and the zerk fittings wouldn't take aany grease (they do now, replaced them puppies).
