I'm still waiting on my new tractor to come in and I've read a lot of the threads on hydraulic top links. Do the majority of you folks that have the hyd top link have it predominantly for road work with a box blade or are there other things that it helps with as well and how much time do you think it saves you. I plan on working on numerous miles of ranch roads and it sounds like I should add it to my list. Also I plan on shredding about 15 acres to start with and as I get the pastures under control increasing to around 25 acres to be shred. I would mainly shred for looks and not planting much except maybe some oat or wheat fields to give the deer something else to eat but the M9000 Kubota is set up with a 83" width and the dealers tell me I should get the 84" shredder so that I don't have stripes, since it seems I can go back and just overlap the cut is there anything wrong with using a 72" and save the extra $1,000 for other toys. Besides I'd also get more seat time and that doesn't sound so bad to me. If anyone owns a Rhino do you think it's top notch or should I buy the $695.00 Tractor Supply Special.

I use the heavy duty sister to TW, the Cyclone 72 with 82" track and 14.9 X28s no problem. Stripes occur from tire depression in tall grass occaisionally, but wider cutter won't avoid that. That's as narrow as I can go. Might check your options for wheel spacing for trailering purposes though. It's a lot of fun loading on a 7' wide trailer. Far as KK goes, I had one lasted 2,5 years before it came apart. Depends what you want to cut with it. The KK72-60 probabl would have beeny ok for just clipping, but stay away from 2-3" stuff. It's nice not to have to worry about tearing your cutter up and goi into a thicket with confidence.

I bought a Rhino TW 84 3ph cutter several yrs. ago. I've used it for rough cutting and clipping pasture. It is very well built. I buy a considerable amount of farm supplies from TSC but for farm implements I go someplace else.
