Hydraulic top link cylinder screeching

Hello All! First Post, long time lurker.
I have a new, hydraulic top link (with check-valves) installed on a Kioti DK45. When dropping (pushing/extending) the link when loaded heavy (2000 lbs gravel), it screeches. It rated at 14,000lbs push/pull, 3 inch, cat 2. It only makes noise under these conditions. Operation is linear/smooth and all inputs are at idle. Any thoughts/experience would be appreciated. Welcome to TBN and the forum, Mike. Are you sure it's the top link and not the implement it's connected to.

Oosik, thanks for responding. No, not 100% sure it the top link, but seems to be from the seat. Will have someone drop the bucket tomorrow while I have a hand on the cylinder.

Sounds like the P.O. check is seating and unseating when lowering the load this is caused by the load trying to extend the cylinder.

What is happening is check closes pressure builds and pilots it open, load runs away so pilot pressure drops check closes and cycle repeats

An orifice in the rod end to restrict flow will stop this.

Oldnslo is probably correct if your top link has dual pilot operated check valves. Mine didn't screech but it did chatter badly. A flow restrictor fitting on the rod end fixed it.
