I just purchased a used Mahindra 3015 HST with 540 hrs and wanted to start with a fresh fluid change. I drained the coolant, oil and changed the oil filter. I want to change the trans fluid but can't find the drain plug. Also,, I assume I only need to change the hydraulic filter and not the fluid? What about the gear oil? Should I change the gear oil and if so where is the drain plug. Same question for the differentials.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I changed out all fluids except the transmission which I couldn't find the drain or fill plug for. If any one can enlighten me on there whereabouts it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help

My 2615 HST transmission drain plugs (2) are on the bottom of the rear diff. The 3015 should be in the same place.
Its pictured in the owners manual which I assume you did not get buying used. Pick one up from your local dealer, its well worth it. There are several pages to cover these procedures with visual pics of drain locations.
The transmission fill plug should be right in front of your seat looking straight down. If you don't know whether the trans fluid has been changed then you should change it and both the hydrostatic and hydraulic filters. The HST trans, rear diff, and hydraulics all use the same fluid. The front diff is separate.

George,

Thanks you for your help. Your right, I need to get a manual and will when I get home. In the mean time I think I may have confused the hydraulic filter with the trans filter. Which filter (hydraulic or trans) is under the tractor by the rear differential? I thought that was hydraulic but it sounds like the filter sticking out by the seat on the right side is actually the hydraulic. Does that sound right?

Hydraulic filter is under the tractor (large filter)
Hydrostatic filter is shorter filter just under right side of seat.
I've attached a couple pics to help. I can't copy the whole book but these should help.
