New guy here. I know some may feel everything has been discussed about this topic but I have what is probably a dumb question. Assuming by having read the manual as well as an Operators manual , that the SAE 80 uses the same oil for both trans and hydraulic system. OK so I see the trans fill directly at top of case in front of seat on trans casing. I also see what appears to be a small (fill spout?) made into the hyd pump casting below the grip knob under the seat. Is it used to add , check the hyd fluid level at the pump? Or is the trans case the only area the SAE 80 is put in . Is that is the only reservoir for the complete hyd system as well as trans inclusive?? I find nothing in my manual or operator manual that actually mentions this. Appreciate the chance to ask someone here" in the know".

If I remember correctly it's one fill point. To drain the system fully you also have to drain at the rear axel plugs on each side. There should be a sight glass on the side of the trans case for your oil levels.

To TBN TW52. You have come to the right place to get any question answered. As I used to tell my students, the only dumb question is the one not asked.

Mikester is correct about the fill and sight glass. Yes, both trans and hydraulic system are one.

Thanks for the response. That's what I'm seeing. I guess its hard for me to relate the trans oil ( especially 80/90 wt) being used as a hydraulic oil. Thanks again.
