Hydraulic / transmission oil change

Hi everyone.
I bought my S370D Satoh Beaver tractor some 25 years ago. It is a 1979 model. It works fine, Never had major problems . I think it is about Time to change the hydraulic / transmission oil . The specs shows for SAE 80 gear oil for Both hydraulic and transmission . This oil is no longer available. I use 80/90 gear oil since 2 years . Is this OK (I am using the tractor in Winter only) . Also, is there more than one drain plug or just one? I am not quite sure where the drain plug is located. Some where underneath the tractor I think. Thanks for your help.

As you've likely found elsewhere by now, people are stating that the manual is incorrect and that we should use a universal hydraulic fluid such as AW46. I'd advise taking a look at your hydraulic filter screen too...they tend to get eaten away. I recovered mine in stainless steel, another soldered on a brass mesh. Use 100 micron.

This is a French Canadian from Quebec. You're right, the manual is incorrect. I got few tips from an Elite Member on this forum, and I am using an universal hydraulic oil instead of the 80\90 gear oil. That member lives close to my home and drove by two weeks ago. Also, the oil filter is same as yours, I am trying to get that wire mesh, as mentionned on yours previous thread. Thanks to you and Piloon. :tractor:
