Kubota BX 2200
I have a BX2200 with a 3 way loader valve on the FEL. In the winter I take the valve off the FEL and mount it on the tractor to use it for the snowblower quick hitch to raise and lower the blower. To take it off the FEL and add the valve in the spring and fall is a pain in the back not to mention other places. I have looked at valves on Northern Tool web site, see some examples below, and you have many choices. Here is where I need your help. What kind of valve do I need to raise and lower the hydraulic cylinder on the quick hitch? I figure a valve dedicated to use on the snowblower will make life and my back a lot easier. Some hoses, quick connects and a mounting bracket and I am go to go. If you have places on the web to buy that are better then Northern Tool let me know. Thanks for your help.

Prince Log Splitter Detent Valve

For open center systems. Relief valve adjustable to 2750 PSI, preset at 2250 PSI, flow rating up to 25 gal./min. Our most popular log splitter valve. Spring centered in one direction, pressure released detent in the other direction. Automatically kicks back to neutral when cylinder completes stroke. Built-in relief valve ports. Hydraulic balanced, hard chrome plated spool. Handle can be installed in “up” or “down” position. Detent release pressure adjustable from 600 to 2000 PSI. USA

Prince Detent Valve, 3/4in. Port Size

Factory pre-set at 1500 PSI; adjustable from 1000 to 3000 PSI. Spring centered. 3/4in. inlet/outlet and 3/4in. work ports. For use with 5in. and larger cylinders and 20 gallon pumps. Up to 25 gallons per minute. USA

Prince Standard 4-Way Control Valve

Up to 20 GPM with 4 ports. Factory pre-set at 1500 PSI, has adjustable relief valve. For lower pressure, turn counter-clockwise. Adjustable from 1000 to 3000 PSI. Precision honed and plated, spools are hydraulically balanced. Spring centered. 3/4in. inlet/outlet ports, 1/2in. work ports. USA

I know that we're not talking about the same setup, but last October I asked my dealer for a dual valve for my rear blower and he got me this (pic).

I really don't know all the specifications of the valve but he provided me with exactly the right thing.

Assuming you have ruled out a setup with a diverter, NONE of your choices are very good and I would not even consider any of them. Log splitter valves will not work at all and those 20 and 25 gpm valves are monsters size wise.

The implement flow on your BX is less than 5 gpm so any of the larger valves should be rejected.

I would go with an Eaton-Cessna 30920 valve. They come in 1, 2 and 3 spool configurations with a rather small footprint. They are rated at 5 gpm which is more than enough for a BX and they have an adjustable relief set at 2000 psi with a max of 2500 psi. Part numbers are 9-4500, 9-4501, and 9-4503 with the PB sleeve being 9-4504-B.

Surplus Center has these vavles on page 21 of their 2005 catalog. You will have to order a power beyond sleeve. They are perfect for any BX or B series Kubota less than or equal to a B2410. Tim (8561) has a 3-spool unit on his B2410 and he tells me it works just fine. If you want a real life honest opinion just PM Tim (8561) and tell him I sent you.

The valve in your picture is the valve offered for sale by Kubota. It is over priced, in my opinion, and there are other valves that will do the job for a lot less money. See my previous post.

OK stupid question, what does this mean? I told you I have no idea what I am doing. Is it how many levers on the valve? If so would I need a 1 spool valve? Up and down on the cylinder on the blower?

1 spool (or lever in your terminology) per function just like your loader which is actually 2 spools (two functions). Each spool will have 2 work port hose connections that go to the cylinder(s).

You can always have more spools than functions. You just don't connect anything to the unused spool(s).

OK starting to understand, what is the above? and where does it go?

I would plug in the hose from the tractor hydraulics to the valve and then the two hoses to the cylinder ports on the blower?

The current loader valve will have 3 "tractor" hoses that go to the tractor and 4 "cylinder" hoses that go to the cylinders.

For the 3 "tractor" hoses, one is the high pressure inlet, one is a power beyond outlet, and the other is the return to tank. The PB outlet allows fluid to flow to the next valve in line (the 3pt or another valve). The valve has to have a PB sleeve so that it can internally direct fluid properly. That is as simple as I can make it.

The MadRef is correct, I do have the three spool E/C valve on my 2410. He was a tremendous help in selecting and setting up my valve installation. It works very well on my 2410, and has a very small footprint which I found very helpful. Last winter it ran my hydraulic top link as well as the hydraulic teurn and hydraulic chute deflector on my snowblower. Yesterday I ordered the hydraulic side link from CCM. Yankees Fan - PM me if I can provide any specific help on this valve or set-up. I'll try to look past your Yankees allegiance and provide the best answers I can. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
