Kubota m9000 m7500
Hi I am new to this forum but have read quite a bit here. I have what should be a simple problem but dont know answer. Just bought used m9000 tractor put 20 hours on tractor prepping for planting food plots about twenty five acres . waiting on coop to put fertilizer out so I had downtime I changed engine oil no problem. I had noticed hydraulic functions slowing so I decided to change fluid and previous owner had sent spare filter with tractor it was my intention to change fluid and filter and if helped at end of season change again with synthetic kubota fluid so i bought cheapest fluid not kubota. I drained fluid out both compartments. specs call for about 13.7 gallons fluid got little less than that out. then went to change filter and when found it in front of rear axel right side there were two(I know I should hav checked first). Being easter sunday I couldnt get another filter auto stores here didnt have one dealer and napa closed so I decided to put new one on what I thought was primary so I put it on position toward the front. Then I decided to remove other filter to drain as much dirty oil out as possible. when I took it off there is some type of apparatus that projects into the center of the filter that is about a quarter inch diameter rod about 3 inches long that has what looks like a john boat plug on the end, this had a lot of thick material on it which I wiped off. I then replaced the old filter. When refilled fluid may have overfilled a little. I restarted tractor and no hydraulic functions will work, no transmission 3 pt pto or rear hydraulics. I let the tractor run about ten minutes hoping air needed purging no help. Is ther some reset switch or did I need to do something with this apparatus or do you think the second filter is now totally stopped up? Any help appreciated sorry for the long post, plan to get another filter today and replace it if fluid doesnt leak out much. Add: It has hydraulic shuttle transmission.

Thanks

The pump may not have picked up the prime.

Add about 50 lbs of air to the filler opening and see if it will help.

Don't use the hyd levers, all valves should be in neutral.

If you have a gage at the input to the FEL valve you can see if there is any pressure.

You may hear a sound difference when the pump picks up prime.

Thanks for reply have done similar procedure on jd tractor that manuel fuel prime didnt function after running out of fuel Put air pressure on fuel tanks worked great. Do you know what the plunger looking apparatus is? going to work now will check tonight.

Thanks

I sometimes wrap a towel around an air nozzle.

Thanks I thought it might be like a magnetized oil pan plug but the material on it didnt seem to be metallic but could be so small particles and mixed with burnt oil that it was difficult to tell and I believe it was non ferrous rod it is attached to so that also makes since. I bought 1 inch pipe thread bushing reduced to one quarter inch to receive air hose quick disconnect today and another hydraulic filter but didnt get time to go to tractor in field will get it done tomorrow and post how it works . I guess magnet works better there than both drain plugs because all the fluid flows through there

Thanks

on fuel tank pressurization I cut piece of tire innertube with the valve stem in about a eight inch or so circle or square will do and wrap the rubber around the fuel filler neck and put wire tie or wire or radiator clamp etc around neck to hold it and air the valve stem just like a tire advantage is u can do it by yourself and even turn pressure on and off from drivers seat if you use one that plugs in a cigarrette lighter or have one or long enough cord to reach to battery and use switch on compressor though not really needed or one can hold it on and one turn over starter or strong rubber bands might work

I changed the second filter only lost about 2 quarts of good oil and put bushing with air quick disconnect fitting inserted in it then attached compressor with quick disconnect hose fittings. The air pressure didnt build up but to 2 or 3 lbs in a minute or so but when started tractor and tried hydraulics they worked not sure why pressure didnt build up much from air compressorr maybe just large volume either way it worked:)
