Hello All,

Need some help with my Jinma. I broke a line on my hydraulics, replaced it and am now trying to get pressure back in my lines. I am using the steering to pump it back in as I read an article that is how it is done by turning the wheels back and forth. But I still cannot get pressure to my bucket. I just read some of an article posted here but could not find the rest of that link to see all of what was done. So I guess I will start here. I have the knob by the seat which I believe is for return pressure, correct me at any time if I am wrong. I see what looks to be the control box for the front hydraulics on the right side of my tractor. I see the out of place hex nut on it. I believe in the article I read in your forum that this is for the pressure adjustment???? Could you give me some advice on what I should do with these two valves if I am on the right track.
Cheers,
DonS

First off do not adjust anything. It worked before so it should work again. What line burst and had to be replaced? Did you top off the fluid? Is the steering working? You said the FEL is not working. Is the 3 point working?

What Chris said, don't adjust anything. I don't think the steering is going to help you prime the system. That steering assembly, as I understand them, is a standalone pump. When it has hydraulic pressure available from the diverter valve, it uses this pressure to assist in steering, with excess fluid drawn from the hydrauilics being returned to the resovoir. When no pressure is available, the steering becomes a standalone system and the rotary pump assembly at the bottom of the steering column only sends fluid to-from the steering system, so you don't completely loose steering when you loose hydraulics. that is why your steering still works.

When the line burst, did you leak all the hydraulic fluid out of the tractor getting it back to the barn? If so, then the pump drew all the fluid out of the resovoir and started sucking in air. Have you replaced the lost fluids in the hydraulic resovoir under the seat? If the fluid level in the resovoir is where it is supposed to be, start up the engine, and the hydraulic pump should draw fresh fluid from the resovoir and the hydraulic components should start to work again. If it dosn't, you may need to open up the suction pipe at the resovoir end, and pour some fluid into this pipe to help prime the pump. On my 284, the suction/supply pipe(metal pipe) comes out of the top of the resovoir to a pipe union, then runs to the hydro pump along the right side of the transmission. That fitting on the top of the resovoir is the highest point in the suction line, and a handy spot to fill the suction pipe all the way to the pump. IF you can fill that pipe with fluid, and reconnect it to the resovoir, the pump should self prime and you should be back to where you were before the line blew.

Good luck
