Hydraulics on SD2843T Quit working!

Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong?
Fluid level is full and cannot find hydraulic filter. Tractor has a small line attached to the pump at the bottom and a 1" line comming out of the top that goes back to the transmission. There is no filter in either line. I thought it might be stopped up, but I guess not if it doesn't have one! Any ideas?

Hi! I had problems with my hydraulics on my SD2043, they stopped working, then they worked erratic, inconsistent. It seemed to be a contact problem so I pulled and sprayed all electrical connections related to the control box and hydraulics. I had to pull the box that the joystick is mounted on to get at the connections below it. Also, under the seat are ground connections, remove them, scrape to shiny metal, coat it with electrical connection jelly and reconnect em. Then finally, spray contact cleaner right down the top of the joy stick so you get solution into the mechanism. Do all these steps to eliminate a possible electrical connection problem. OK, did they gradually quit, or all at once?

One possibility is that the hydraulic pickup screen is plugged, and so cant allow oil to get to the pump. The big 1" line should be your supply, if it is set up like my D23F, it comes out of the transmission via a flange held with 2 or 3 cap screws. You might drain the transmission and remove this flange, on mine there is a stainless inlet strainer, it was plugged with brake pad or clutch material. The tube should just pull out of the flange, its got an o-ring on mine, then you can pull the strainer and clean it with diesel or parts cleaner. On mine, there is also a spring that wraps around the strainer, it holds some magnets that trap metal particles, you might want to remove this prior to doing the cleaning thing.
