Silly question: Can I use a one-way cylinder with my two-way system? Is it just a matter of connecting the one hose to one of the sides of my outlet (I just have one remote) and if I don't like the way I have to move the lever moving it to the "other side" of the outlet? Or do I need a two-way cylinder to use with my two-way system?

Yes, you can use a SA cyl with a DA valve.

Will the SA cyl always have a load to retract the cyl.

You can plug the unused work port.

You could use one port and connect the other work port to tank.

Yes
I just use one of the pair when raising the snowplow with a one-way cyl.
