I've been thinking about putting a thumb on my 447 backhoe. I was wondering if I could put a hydraulic cylinder on it and run it in parallel with my bucket curl cylinder with cutoffs for when I want it stationary or parked. What do you think? Has anyone ever tried this?

Technically it would work, but it would not be user friendly at all. The best way would be to add a electric diverter valve to the bucket circuit, or a solenoid valve to the main feeds to the hoe.

Why not ask this in the Hydraulics forum?
