Hello all. I have a CK25 that is about 5 years old. I was using a brush hog yesterday and had the brush hog ligted off the ground and the tractor was sitting idling for maybe 5 minutes. I started to hear a hydro wine that i Hva enever heard before. When I lowered the unit the noise stopped. I relifted the unit and had no noise. Since that occurrence I have verified fluid level which was good, and I havd changed over to my rear mounted finish mower and mowed for about 45 minutes with no problems. If I listen carefully, I can occasionally hear a little bit of noise that sounds like a hydro noise, but nothing like I heard when the brush hog was lifted and the engine rpm was low/idle. The tractor drives fine, seems to have all the power it's ever had, and makes no additional noises when driving. Any ideas what the noise is/could be? Thanks for any and all help ahead of time. The tractor byt he way had about 550 hours on it and I love it. The only trouble I've had with it was a leaking hydro cooler, which was replaced under warranty.

the first question i can think of is did the engin have a slight straining sound. On my CK 20 when i have something as heavy as a bush hog and leave the lift up in any position at an idle it sometimes struggles to pick it up and you will get a whine from the pump and engine. I would suspect that from what you are describing and how you remedied it that was what was happening. If you increase the throttle a little it should have went away once it was lifted back into position

I agree with Viper. I suspect that the noise is just more evident when the engine noise is low from idle. Also, the 3ph hydraulic cylinder always has some leakage (turn your tractor off with the bush hog in the air and watch how fast it settles) so when it is up, the hydraulic pump need to constantly push a tiny amount of fluid into the cylinder to keep it in the up position and that could be the hydraulic noise you hear.

It could have been the pressure relief valve squeeling. We have found cases where the position control lever was set higher than the geometry of what was on the 3-point would allow, causing the pressure relief to open since the 3-point was "locked" by the implement.

Doing this for a short period of time, 5 minutes, doesn't ususally lead to seriuos problems. Have the system against the pressure relief for exstended periods of time can cause overheating and serious damage to the hydraulic system.

Thanks for all the information and replys. I used the tractor last night to mow lawn and everything seemed fine. I ran it for about 2 straight hours without any unusual noises from the hydraulics. Everything seems fine. I think the low RPM with the heavy weight may have been my issue. I love the Kioti and talk it up whenever I get the chance. I will have to talk to my dealer about that Hydo cooler, cause it does look like it's got a slight leak again. Sounds like maybe getting the retrofit kit is the way to go on that. Thanks again.
