Welcome to TBN. Bunch of smart tractor minds here! (Me, I'm just behind...and tryin' to catch up!)
Check out the oil, lubes and fuel forum here on TBN. Got info/discussions for everything that's carbon based (or not) that you might want to put in your tractor.
Personally, would keep the receipts for all the lubes in case warranty issues crop up and stay away from anything close to an off brand for the 3 years. Unless you want to go back to the dealer and then it is not an issue. Just did a fluid change and it is pricey, but piece (whoops) peace of mind is worth it.
I'm running the AMSOIL "Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil
SAE 5W-30 (ATH)" in my 2210. I have 250 hours on the tractor and 200 hours on the oil everything is working great. (Time to change it again at 200 hours.)
This oil meets John Deere J20C & J20D specifications so it should work fine. Mines not an ehydro, so I checked the 3X series owner's manual online and it calls for J20C - then I checked the 2210 manual and it lists J20C as well.
Thanks for the info guys, deere had 15% off sale this week so I picked up all my filters and oil $$$. This is my first hyrdo C.U.T. and I got it used so if a problem shows up I wont have to ? the fluid. I have used TSC oil in my gear deeres and never had a problem. Jim
I have looked at the TSC oil before and I'm pretty sure it is listed as meeting the JD spec on the side of the bottle. However, I seem to recall TSC has multiple oils and you'd want to make sure you get the right one.
Yes...the JD oils are never cheap...sticker shock...but they do work well.
