I have a problem with my sol's 1863. They called with a hydraulic problem. No lift and no drive. I checked and there was no fluid on the stick. No choice but Ace so bought 1/2 gal. hydraulic fluid. This didn't get to the stick, and still no hydraulic. Next day, tried draining that and put a gallon of NAPA hydraulic in it, that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance to all who help.

What is the capacity for this tractor? If adding a half gallon didn't bring it up to the stick, you're still low. If you don't have enough fluid, you don't have a "complete" system, so I wouldn't expect anything to work.

My last addition was 1 gallon. It was actually an exchange because we drained out the 1/2 gallon we put in the day before. I think the capacity is approximately 7 qts. So we have a way to go. At the price, I guess I'll just mix the two and add a quart. Whaddya think?

I failed to mention in my last entries that I checked the hydr pump shaft and it's turning.

Replace the Hydro filter and fill with almost 2 gal of fluid - the stick will show low until the last quart but you should still get some movement even a quart low..

If the unit was running/driving before and this just started then there is a leak - possibly the relief valves - if you use other fluids than Hytran (CC fluid) it could affect the performance but if no movement at all then fluid type is not the issue - its a filter or somethings awry in the hydro.

Fill with hydro fluid (preferably Hytran) and make sure the filter is changed then go from that point.

Tyrone, im not sure if the 1863 is anything like my 1811, but i had a seal leaking on mine and was a gallon low.............if you are sitting on the tractor, on the right side of the transmission under the seat and fender section, there is a seal that is about the size of a quarter. Mine was leaking...put fluid in the tractor and drive it for a minute or two. Then look under the tractor and see where the fluid is leaking from............if it is on the right side, it may be that seal............
