Hydro system fluid

My old 8N I just got, has a crank driven, add on, hydro system on it to work a snow plow. The fluid is a bit low, what kind of fluid can I use in it? Will the "old Ford trans" fluid work in this system? I had to pick some of this up for my trans, and am woundering if it will work for that also. Thanks.

Just use a good grade of hydraulic oil, not sure about the "old Ford " oil you refer to, as the manuals recommend 90 wt mineral oil for those old Fords
