Well, the hydro in my 1020 isn't working again. I decided to go ahead and bite the bullit this time and order the new pump and motor assemblies that it needs only to learn that Massey says that they have been discontinued.
I also have had tried All States Ag Parts‏ Tractor Parts & Combine Parts for John Deere, Case-IH, International & Others and WEST KENTUCKY TRACTOR PARTS, INC Used salvaged tractor parts including John Deere, Ford, Kubota and other Japanese tractor part dealers both of them replied with no hydro parts in stock.
The HYDRO unit is made by KYB Industries, formerly known as KAYABA. They make all types of hydraulic equipment including power steering units for GM and others. I have not been able to find a way to buy from them or even find out if they still produce a part that would work. They must be a dealer only type of supplier. My local Massey dealer has contacted AGCO to see what they can find out, but have yet to respond back to him. (Doubt they will)
I am currently in the procces of facing off these parts again, but not having good results. Here is where I told about doing it a couple of years ago, if anyone is interested. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/massey-ferguson/78946-fixed-my-hydro.html?highlight=Hydro
Does anyone have other salvage yards you can suggest I try. OR are there any Massey AGCO dealers that have suggestions as to how I might obtain these parts.
At this point, it appears that I only have scrap metal for a tractor.
ALL suggestions welcome.

Leonard Sheaffer is a member here that is a dealer. He has gotten parts for the 1000 series before. You might give him a try. Here is his information.

I just saw your post and went back to your last year's rebuild thread.

How many hours did you get on your rebuilt HST before the problem surfaced
again?

It seems to me from my one-time experience rebuilding an HST that your
failure is caused by oil starvation, cavitation, or poor filtration. Your fix
of the damage was good, but your cause was not determined last year, as
far as I can tell from your posts.

In my B21, the HST pump had its own filter, separate from the gearbox
filter and separate from the charge pump filter. And WP was 5000psi.

dfkrug-- Your right, it does appear to be caused from oil starvation. I have had a long time problem with the oil getting lots of air mixed in. Don't know from where, the only way I can figure is that the gears in the rear case are churning it up too much. Have tried filling it to the top. All line and hose connections have been extremely tightened on the suction side. I did a test once pulling fresh oil from a bucket and dumping out into another bucket. When doing this, it worked flawlessly as long as the pail of oil held out. This was to determine that the hydro unit it's self was not causing the air issue.
This time I removed both the pressure and suction filters. (cutout and re-welded the lines so they are a direct flow with no filtration) In my opinion-the location of the filters were too high above the oil resivoir. Also, they are laying down so the suction filter would always have an air pocket in it anyway. Now the return line is completely below oil level.
Still not having any luck finding a salvage hydro unit. Still waiting. In the meantime I have had the surfaces machined and they look excellent but it has not fixed it yet. My charge pump pressure and case relief pressures are within normal limits. However, the high pressure will only go up to 500 psi (should reach 3500) then all of a sudden it drops to 0 psi and the hose from the charge pump goes soft. It does this in forward and reverse. My first thought was the pressure OR neutral valves were malfunctioning but I can't think all 4 pressure valves would go bad at the same time. Maybe I have just removed too much material from the faces of cylinder block assemblies and the spring in them needs to be shimmed to exert more force.

Tough problem. Sounds like you are leaving no stone unturned. That
oil aeration issue sounds like the cause.

I wondered about your refinishing the surface of the pump end plate. Did
your manual have a spec for the thickness? If so, would making it thinner
have caused more leakage?

That is why I asked how many hours it worked before going bad again. I saw the spring inside your pump cyl block. Mine did not have one, so
mine must have used some other method to push the cyl block against
the end plate.

As for the relief valves going bad....seems unlikely. More than one...no
way.

Sorry-- I forgot that you asked about hours of service. It was about 2 years ago that I fixed it and I mow around 4 acres. About 3 hours per mowing plus some snow moving etc. Hr meter, 1458 hrs 05-03-2006 and now 1635 hrs. About 200. All in all, it's been a great tractor but starting to get on my nerves cuz I can't figure this one out.

About 200 hours on the rebuild? I would say your fix had worked. Sounds
like whatever is fouling (or aerating) your hyd fluid is back.
