I have heard of them working on one, but haven't seen any pictures. When it does come out, I would give it a good deal of time to work the bugs out, before considering purchasing one. I don't know of any Chinese tractor offering shuttle shift yet either.

Hope you have a lot of patience. It will be around 5 to 10 years before a hydrostatic that works will be available and it will not cost hundreds more, it will cost thousands more. If driving a manual is unimaginable for your needs then you would be the wrong customer for Chinese equipment. It requires a certain amount of flexibility to own one. There are many brands that make good solid hydros, I would look in that direction.

Thanks guys. I dont understand why some companies such as Kioti and Kubota which is Korean(i think) and they have hydrostatic engines but most others dont? I was thinking about getting a Long 330 instead, it looks really sharp

Kubota is Japanese, Kioti is Korean. And most tractor companies do make hydrostatic transmission(not engine) tractors. The Chinese tractors are supposed to be a bargain priced tractor and if they added all the bells and whistles of the more refined tractors then they wouldn't be much of a bargain.

For some people like me, a hydrostatic is a need. Ive been quoted a hydrostatic would cost about $3k more then a manual and i still find that to be a bargian compared to most tractors like New Holland and John Deere.

You may start seeing some Chineese Hydro John Deere tractors in the near future. JD recently made an agreement with a Chinese tractor company.

Have you looked at the new Mahindra 2810 hydro(28 hp) korean built, resonably priced, not the price of the china tractors, but quality at at a decent price over the big 3. New England Tractor

Kubotas,Kioti,New Holland,Agco Allis,Massey Ferguson are great tractors and I think John Deere are fine as well.......I like my JD 4400,I certaintly had a few problems with it and they have been fixed............How is Deere going downhill anymore than any other line of tractors ??? Parts and service is great, although you pay a premium at times. Nah,I don't think John Deere is going down hill.

Thanks, ive never seen a Mahindra thats hydrostatic. It must be really new because ill be damned if i can find any information on the hydrostatic model. Do you know how i can get a price quote on it?

I think John Deere is a pretty cool tractor, my dad used one on his job once it was a pretty good machine although it was manual. I think Deere is just trying to get a peace of the chinese tractor market.

Whats weird about the Long 330 is it has no clutch or none that i can see, i thought all hydrostatis had clutches to switch to the reverse and forward gears? The layout is alot different too which the brakes on the left and forward and reverse on the right.

I was interested in the Kioti CK20 because it was a forward pto which means i might be able to put a sweeper on the front, with the L35 its a hassle driving backwards sweeper because the pto is in the back.

Jai,
John deere may be trying to get a piece of the Chinese market and also lock out as many chinese tractors from their green markets as possible. Remember when you could buy Yanmar tractors in the US ?

I believe those chinese jd's are for sale in their market.. not specifically ours.. as in they would be 'grey's' over here.. though, I must say.. after seeing jinma's in person and not being scared away.. a chineese jd might be fairly attractive, especially if jd imposes or supervises some of the tooling fabrication and qc process.

Actually.. can't wait to see one... though I imagine parts availability for a chineese jd woul be nill over here as you know JD is going to help you get parts for your 'green' tractor that you bought cheaper than the domestic units they offer.
