Tell me how you guys stabilize a PTO pump from spinning, are the chains that I see from time to time the only method that is used for this purpose?

Mike,
Here are two of the most common ways to attach your pump. That is if I can put an attachment on here with this new software. The left photo is a torque arm version. There is an piece of angle iron attached to the pump and a chain.

Thanks Jerry

Not sure what stabilizes the bracket shown in the second picture but I'll just use the chain and angle iron method.

I probably slides over the drawbar or some other substancial bracket. the single bar arm can do the same thing.

I just wrap a small piece of chain around the draw bar and then hook the two ends to the eyebolts in the pump. The old timer at my local ag store said the hoses would probably hold it fine, but the chain makes me feel like I am less likely to rip a hose in two.

Like Jeff was saying, the chain or chain and bar are for safety and the hoses will usually hold the pump in place. But also like Jeff I don't really want to take a chance.
