So you gutted your DPF? What's that going to do to your warranty?

That's good info to know, ericm979:thumbsup: (one should never really be totally stranded)

As far as warranty, They would never know it was removed unless they take the canister apart and there is no reason to do that. It doesn't give any codes and doesn't have to regen. I kept the filter in case I would need to put it back but don't see a reason to. I left the cat as it was. I don't know if it would help to remove it, it has plenty of power as is. It will roll coal now under a heavy load.

One cannot "blow out" a DPF! You have operated it to the point of severe clogging. The shutdown, and resultant no-start condition, is programmed in in order to keep the operator from TOTALLY screwing up the DPF. Dealer will have to reset (and they WILL make sure that it does a proper/full regen).

Interesting that you could get it to this point with such low hours. Had to work hard to accomplish that!

There is nothing programmed on the 3725. There is no computer. None. There is only a "data logger" that compares the input sensor pressure going into the filter to the output sensor pressure on output of the filter. If the difference gets too great, it lights the light on the dash. That's it.

There is no way to "manually regen" the tractor. It is a continuous regen, think of it like a catalytic converter on a gas powered vehicle. It has to get hot enough for the catalyst to "cook" the soot residue out of the filter. That's why they say to run the rpm's up above 2000 for a good portion of your operating time.

The OP has plugged his filter with soot. Don't know what his elevation is, but if he's at high elevation (Colorado), the tractors come shipped tuned to sea level. That could soot up the filter in a fast way.

OP, contact your selling dealer, they should be able to talk you through taking the bypass plug out to get the tractor to run enough to get it on a trailer and get it to the dealer. Probably needs a tune check out, and a new filter. All should be under warranty.

And hop on down to the Branson forums, there's a few Branson dealers that are active in that forum that are very, very helpful.

So this is a DOC system not a DPF type? Big difference then on what needs to be done to fix it.

It's a DPF per the manuals.

If the dash light blinks every 2 seconds the DPF needs a cleaning cycle. Which I think means run it hard for a while- the shop manual doesn't say. If the light is on solid the DPF is clogged. If your light didn't go through the 2 second blinking phase something might be wrong. There's also a .5 second blink rate to indicate a sensor malfunction.

The "rolling coal" may clog your cat.
