I been reading about adding a hydraulic cylinder to my landscape rake. Well here are some pictures. All that left is to paint it.

Nice job.

Are those bushings in your cylinder mounting tabs or spacers to take up the width between the clevis ears?

Thanks for the pictures.

It's always interesting to see the different configurations someone comes up with when they make the mounts for the hydraulic cylinder. What range of motion do you have with your cylinder mounted that way? What stroke length of cylinder did you go with?

You will love the rake now that you can hydraulicly angle it. Sure beats jumping on and off the tractor to change the position of the rake. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Here's a couple of pics showing full right and left angle.

I bought the cylinder at a farm auction. I don't remember what the stroke of it is but I do have full movement both ways. Those are washers used as spacers

I hope the weather will be in my favor on Friday so I can paint it

nice work, I'd like to do that with a 6' rear blade that I have but I want to be able to reverse it.

Why did you cross the cylinder from one side to the other? Was it due to the length of the cylinder?

I am looking at doing the same thing for my 7' rear blade. My blade mount/lock looks the same as your rake. I was going to bolt an arm on the blade in holes for where the locking pin goes, rather than welding an arm on like dirtworksequp did. So if I wanted to reverse the blade, I could just unbolt the arm, swing around the blade and bolt it back on.

IXLR8, actually I can disconnect the pins on the cylinder and then swing the rake 180 degree's, hook the pins back up with the cylinder on top of the brackets and have the rake facing rearward. I can then use it backwards in the straight position or hydraulic angle to the left. If I need anymore than that I can aways remove the cylinder an manually pin where its needed. Most rakes that have the ability to be used in either front facing or rear facing have brackets on both sides. Then all you do is manually swing the rake around and switch the cylinder over to the other brackets. I think in the 13 years that I've had my rake I've only used it in the rear facing position once or twice.

Here is a pic of the rake in the rear facing position with the clyinder pinned for straight or right angle use.

Dirt... that is simpler than what I was thinking... I just don't know if I trust my welding skills, or lack thereof, to stand up to the loads I put on my blade. I agree, I have only worked my blade reversed once in the year that I have had it, keeping in mind that 3pts are not designed to be pushed against.
