Tractor
Kubota L3010 HST
I completed the move to Florida over the last two weeks and now it is time to get serious about this tractor thing. I had pretty much decided on the Kubota L3010 but this mornings paper had an ad from the local Massey Ferguson dealer showing the following:

MF 1235, 30 HP, 4WD, Hydro trans, turf tires, 54" bucket on the FEL, 5' rotary cutter, and 5' box blade. 2 year warranty. Ad price: $16,999.

Not knowing where the Kubota dealer may settle, and not knowing if the MF dealer may drop a bit more, what are your thoughts on a head to head comparison of these models and/or manufacturers?

I don't expect 50+ replies in a couple of hours but if I get none I may sub-contract my posting to her. {grin}

I'm looking at a 3010 with GST, FEL and R4s for $18090. M/F Sounds like an interesting option to look into. I decided early on to stick with Kubota or JD due to long term ease of service and resale value, but I'd like to hear how your comparisons turn out!

have u test driven both models? i don't tink u want to go on price alone.think u have to look at each very closely and decide which is best for YOU. i am partial to kubota but think the massey price needs some looking into. let us know what you decide.

GS,

When you buy a Kubota you are buying into the company too. When buying MF what are you buying - Mahindra today - what brand (or parts) tomorrow?

GS,
I just got delivery of my Kubota L4610. For over a year I looked at everything. I looked at John Deere, Massey Ferguson, New Holland and each time when I left whatever dealer it was that I just visited, I liked that tractor the best. My point is that each tractor looked like it would fit my basic needs, each dealer seemed competent, and probably most of all I was enough of a novice to not know what the differences were. After searching, studying, reading, etc for a year it came down to John Deere or Kubota, mainly because of the wealth of knowledge that was available on those two brands on this website. If you need to know virtually anything about a Kubota or John Deere there are enough people on this website that will jump in to answer your questions and point you in the right direction, that you won't be stranded. When I was looking at the Massey's they seemed to be good tractors, but as a novice, I knew that I was going to need lots of help and I don't like to call the dealer with every little question, so the access to breadth of satisfied Kubota owners willing to share their knowledge on this website in addition to the outstanding features and a good price, sealed the deal for me on Kubota.

Thanks for the input. I think that last reply tells me what I need to know. That is there is a lot I will need to know and this forum is a great source of information.

Thanks again;
